The adoption community in South Africa is concerned about proposed amendments to the children’s act, arguing that the move might result in a decline in the countries already worrying adoption rate. As 2018 drew to a close the Department of Social Development added a last minute amendment to the act making any payment for national or inter-country adoptions illegal, Sue Krawitz is the spokesperson explains.
